Dapiya User-requested ROI - Manager System Documentation Author: @BigShuitai & @xiaoqianWX Version: 1.0.21 (document) / 1.2.3 (service) Last updated: 2024/04/11 01:45 UTC 1.What is ROI ROI - Region Of Interest, similar to Dapiya's TC floaters User-requested ROI system allows user to enter lat/lon to view live-updating satellite imagery of that area By uploading custom colormap, users can see infrared cloud images using their own colormap Currently these satellites are supported: Himawari-9, GK-2A(GEO-KOMPSAT-2A), GOES-16/17/18, Meteosat-9/10/11(MSG-2/3/4) Support for more satellites is coming! 2.Register & Login Click 'Register' on the login page to enter the register page After you've filled all information and clicked 'Register', you will receive a verification email, click the verify button to verify Before your account is verified, you can go through the registration process again with the same email in case you want to change your username or password After you're verified, enter your email & password to login * P.S.: * 1. The verification email will be from dapiya@qq.com(deprecated) dapiya-team@outlook.com, if it is not from this email, it is fake and DO NOT click anything on it * 2. You can only register 1 account with the same email * 3. After you clicked the verify button in the verification email, you will be redirected to the login page in 3 seconds, if you refresh before that, you will get verification failed. This is normal & expected behavior. * 4. DO NOT register usernames that are offensive, political, highly controversial, or NSFW. Your account may be removed & you may be blocked as a result. 3.Password Retrieval When you forget your password or want to change your username, you can click the "Forgot Password?" button on the login page, and you will enter the password retrieval page. To improve security, we force you to verify your email and enter the verification code included in the email sent. After successful verification, your account data will be cleared (including ROI tasks, colormap files, etc.), leaving only the most basic user data (such as account ID). After the reset is successful, you will be redirected to the registration page. Just follow the registration steps in 2. 4.ROI Tasks To create an ROI, click 'Create ROI' on the top bar Your ROI & its files will be saved for 60 hours since the creation ROI task stops producing images 48 hours after creation, but archive & access will remain until +60 To edit an ROI, right click on the task(or simply tap once on touchscreen/phones), and you will find the 'Edit ROI Task' button Every time you edit an ROI, it's creation time & ROI token resets. This way you can extend the period of usage for an ROI. However, if you have more than 5 tokens active at the same time, the oldest one will be removed. Do note that after you edit a task, because it's ROI token resets, you can no longer see the old images. See section 5 on how to go to the archive. * P.S: * 1. Please strictly follow the format shown in the box: latmin, latmax, lonmin, lonmax * 2. Due to server performance issues, as of right now, each user can have 3 ROIs running at the same time. * 3. Because it takes time for server to produce the images, when you create a new task, it will take a bit(~5-15min) for server to produce the first image. * 4. Please be aware of what you're deleting, if a task is deleted, it's archive is gone. 5. Customized colormap upload You can write the colormap yourself in the editing box according to the format prompted; you can also upload the colormap file, and the window will automatically read the content. Before uploading, you must test the colormaps you wrote. Only after passing the test can you upload the colormaps. Otherwise, a pop-up window will display with error content. There is only one custom colormap per user. If you upload multiple times, the custom colormap from the last upload will be used. 6.Other ROIs Shows 4 random ROIs created by other users(and yourself), if you're not getting what you want, refresh the webpage 7.Real-time Imagery & Archive Page Right click/tap on an ROI task(both yours and in Other ROIs section) to enter Real-time Imagery page. It is essentially the same as Dapiya floater page ROI Archive page is similar to floater archive as well. However, if you've edited one of your tasks, you can find the archive of the old task by first going to an archive of your own ROI, click the '../' at the top, and go into the previous ROI token. 8. Public ROIs These tasks are for tracking any un-numbered invest areas, severe weather, extratropical systems, and other important events globally. If you wish to place one somewhere, contact site admins. Do note that there are no archive function for public ROIs
